- The Non-Insured Health Benefit (NIHB), and Metis Health Benefits program provide coverage for needs based eligible recipients including registered Indian and Inuk and Metis.
- Nicotine Replacement Therapies are also covered. |

- Seniors Benefits Program offers coverage up to $1000 annually. |
Vision Care |
- Those over 65 receive one pair of eye glasses every 2 years. |
Hospital Care |
- Coverage is available for basic ward accommodations. |
Health Specialists |
- Coverage is available for medical specialties such as radiotherapy treatment, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and detoxification services. |
Homecare and Nursing |
- Coverage is available for those who have a valid NWT Health Care Card and live in an area where the Home Care Program is offered. |
Ambulatory Services |
- No coverage available except inter-hospital transfers. |
Hearing Aids |
- Extended Health Benefits (EHB) will pay provide some coverage towards the cost of hearing aides, fitting fees and ear molds. The Seniors Benefit Program covers hearing aids up to $500 every 5 years. |
Medical Equipment and Supplies |
- The Seniors Benefit Program provides some coverage. |
